Lakeside Triathlon  – shopping, cinema, restaurants, oh yeah and racing. This event really has got it all!  Fancy the opportunity to race within the grounds of one of Europe’s largest shopping centres?  Well I decided if I did badly then at least retail therapy was to hand.  Its going to be interesting comparing doing a triathlon in some of the loveliest locations in the UK to doing one in a shopping centre ......

G3 series - will start and finish at Newlands corner. The route covers the scenic and beautiful countryside of the North Downs, following forest trails and woodland sandy tracks. This final route will explore the north side of the downs for the first time, weaving through the bracken tracks and over some more hills.

The Bridge is a triathlon by a bridge believe it or not. The bridge in this case is the Dartford Crossing - and we take part in the industrial estate - sorry the "office park" on the southern shore of the bridge which incidentally is opposite the Lakeside Tri.

The Hurt is claiming to be the newest and most challenging 10k trail run in the South East. It might just hurt.  The course immediately climbs to the summit of Pitch Hill taking in both a steep climb and a gradual winding approach. Then, off Pitch Hill down into the valley and up again to the summit of Holmbury Hill, again via steep climbs and gradual ascents. Then off the back of Holmbury Hill, returning to the finish via some previous descents but in the opposite direction.... but the final 200m being all down hill.

Grim Duathlon - well just look at the blog/facebook picture to see what kind of event this is!  Described as one of the toughest short-course duathlons in the country - who am I to argue!

The Grim is held over the Army's vehicle testing tracks.  I've been doing this race since 2005 and its cold, wet, muddy and I love it!
